Choose a phone for your everyday use
Separate essentials from extras first. Do you mainly use messages, banking and navigation, or take lots of photos and video? Check storage and support for your apps on the exact model. Check whether your SIM or eSIM works with that version and your provider. Versions sharing one product name are not automatically identical. Compare the model number rather than just the name on the box.
An account lock is not a minor detail
A returned phone may still be linked to an earlier account. Apple advises checking that Activation Lock has been removed when buying a previously used iPhone. Google explains that device protection can require the previously linked account after a reset. Ask whether the device can be set up normally with your own account. A phone switching on does not automatically make it usable. Resolve unclear locks before buying.
Screen and battery tell different stories
Look for visible damage to the screen, camera glass and case. Ask separately what is known about the battery, charging, microphone and controls. A scratch and a functional problem are different things. The box or a photograph does not tell you how long the battery lasts. If a phone is untested, its appearance cannot remove that uncertainty. Include the known information in your comparison.
Compare the phone together with what you need
Check which cable and adapter are included and what the manufacturer specifies for this version. Include a necessary charger, case or other part in your budget. Compare an online new-item price with the same storage capacity and version. Another store’s new-item price does not show what this returned item previously cost at FLIP. A simpler complete model may suit you better than a premium phone with missing parts.

Good to know
Does FLIP always have iPhones and Samsung phones?
No. Brands, models and quantities depend on return lots. This page does not promise any specific brand or device.
Is a returned phone the same as refurbished?
No. Returned means a phone was sent back. Refurbished concerns checking and any restoration. Ask about the particular device’s condition and known work.
